About

It would be nice to tell you where Froot Salid was born, but, in fact, it coalesced over a matter of weeks. It came from frustrations over the rising cost for the pitiful selections in the local produce isle. It came from watching the vegetables in a garden go rotten before it could all be eaten. It came from the recognition that more and more people are looking for sustainable sources of local foods that come without fear of an unknown source.

The fruits and vegetables that will soon be available through Froot Salid will be grown in your own neighborhood, and placed for sale by your neighbors who have done well enough over the growing season to have enough to share. If you happen to have a green thumb and a fine garden, we hope that you’ll come and share your surplus bounty with those who don’t have the time – or yard -- to devote to a garden, but enjoy fresh foods.

If you have questions about Froot Salid, our mission and goals, or about getting involved, please contact us here.
